So What is This About?

A sound knowledge of anatomy and physiology is crucial to all good sports therapists and is a vital component of being an effective practitioner. The location of muscles and their respective actions are of particular importance when considering diagnoses for different sports injuries. The course the school offers contains all of the necessary subject areas that a sports therapist requires but at a level that all are capable of learning.
Course Content

  • Muscular and Skeletal Systems
  • Cardiovascular System
  • Lymphatic System
  • Neurological System
  • Endocrine System
  • Respiratory System
  • Immune system
  • Use of orientational terms, e.g. medial, lateral, superior, inferior
Assessment
  • 100 hours home based learning
  • 70 hours classroom time
  • Written theory test
Once Qualified
  • A recognised Anatomy and Physiology qualification
  • The knowledge base to effectively undertake a massage course
  • Ability to undertake further learning.
